Annual Report 2019 - 2020
Excellence in academics is the hall mark of a good institution and the class Xth and XII th Board results of the school proved without an iota of doubt that our students made us proud. From class XII Yash Vardhan Singh of science stream made his way to the top by securing 96.2%. Both Shubi Arora and Faguni Agarwal scored 95.8% each. Nimisha Sinha of commerce stream topped with 97% . Divyanshi Agarwal and Gauri Agarwal secured 94.8% each. Vedika Garg of class X proved her mettle byscoring 99%, securing 100 out of 100 in both English and Maths.Saniya Jain and Ekta Gupta shared the second position with 97.4%. All this shows that St. Dominic’s is surging ahead on the path of sustained progress with missionary zeal.
In the spirit of the motto empowering leaders for Tomorrow,” St. Dominics organized the Investiture Ceremony for the school cabinet for the session 2019-20. The office bearer were handed over the sashes and badges to signify the endowment. Rev. Fr. Mathew Thundiyil our principal administered the oath of office to the responsible shoulders of the school after which he guided the newly elected cabinet with his profound wisdom. The Prime Minister Lokesh Garg and Tatvi Pandit in their speeches promised a definite change for better tomorrow.
Inter School Competitions
Mansi Kaushik and Vaibhavi Trivedi bagged 1st and 3rd prize respectively for solo dance and solo song in Agra Rainbow fest held at St. Peter’s college Agra.Vanshika Jindal came out with flying colours and bagged third prize at district level hindi speech competition conducted by ARTO Mathura.Devershika Pandit, Harsh Shukla, Samarth Gupta and Yashavi Bharadwaj brought laurels to their school by securing first prize in English debate and computer application quiz respectively conducted by the Army school, Mathura. Ansh Arora and Denu Goyal added feathers to the cap of St. Dominics by securing first position in talent search examination conducted by Baluni classes.Briz heritage fest organized by Bhakti Vedant which was a cultural potpourri. Our students bagged prizes in hand writing, painting, dancing and singing competitions.
Co- Curricular Activities
Co- curricular activities are organized on the idea that education does not stop inside class room. It is an integral part of curriculum which provides educational activities to students. The National Cadet Corps is the Indian Military Cadet Corps with the mission of developing qualities of character, courage, discipline and leadership among the youth. There are 25 students actively involved in the NCC. To refresh and rejuvenate the mind and body of students, yoga classes, educational tour and picnics are conducted.
The various events were organized in the cultural week. Apart from academic excellence for which our school has an established reputation. The focus has always been in the holistic development of our young scholars.To keep up with this spirit various inter house competitions were organized during the cultural week. The various activities included for Juniors – Street Play, Group Folk Dance, Singing.For Seniors- English Skit, Singing , English International Folk dance , Tableau.Many interclass competition namely – Declamation, Speech, Storytelling , Poem recitation, Fancy Dress, Spellbee were conducted. A number of Art and craft activities namely drawing , collage making , making of greeting cards, for the juniors- best out of the waste, vegetabl craftings for Senior section.
With a view to promote and foster better understanding of mathematics , maths week was organized where in teacher and students shared various tricks and tips to melt away the huge icebergs that students comes across in the ocean of mathematics. It culminated with maths challenge competition.
To test the knowledge of scientific facts and applications of Scientific principles, A science quiz was conducted in the school which provided an interactive platform.
Swatch Bharat Rally
To sensitize the people about the ill effect of the use of polythene, the students of St. Dominic participated in the rally and plogging under the aegis of cantonment Board Mathura and 11 UP battalion NCC
Teacher’s Day & Children’s Day
The school campus gripped with fervor as students put their best foot forward to pay respect to their teachers. The celebration showcased a musical and cultural fest to everyone through various games and performances. It was really a memorable day for all the teachers. In the same way Children day also was celebrated with much pomp and show. Several fun activities and cultural programme were lined up for the entertainment. The colourful carnival of talent of teachers was displayed.
Sports & Games
A fortnight long sports activities are conducted every year. Inter House Basket Ball, football, Voleyball , Kho-Kho are conducted, it enables to build up sportsman spirit and team spirit. Seminars and workshops are conducted for teachers to bring professional competence and renew their zeal and enthusiasm in teaching Academic brilliance through subject proficiency exams is a sure fireway. In this succession students participated in Math, Science and English Olympiad. In view of the social dedication and concern for the education of the marginalized , we conduct informal Hindi medium school in the afternoon through which free and quality education is given to about 150 poor children from the neighboring areas.
